Christy Corbitt Krieger
2026/2027 Season Faculty:

Lead Private Coach, Advanced Ballet and Pointe Master Class Teacher
Christy served as Director of The Louisville Ballet School 2024 to 2026 after having joined the faculty full time as School Principal in 2018. Originally from Atlanta, Christy Corbitt Krieger finished her fifteenth and final season as Giselle with Louisville Ballet in 2018. Some favorite classical roles with the Company include principal roles in Swan Lake, La Bayadere, and Les Sylphides. She has also enjoyed dancing a wide variety of contemporary and neo-classical work including ballets by George Balanchine, Helen Pickett, Serge Lifar, Paul Taylor, Adam Hougland, Val Caniparoli, Ma Cong, and Ben Stevenson, OBE. Prior to joining the Louisville Ballet she danced with the Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Memphis, and Texas Ballet Theatre where she performed title roles in Cinderella and Giselle. Christy has performed with Fort Worth's renowned Casa Manana Theatre Company in productions of West Side Story, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and Oklahoma and in Louisville with Derby Dinner Playhouse as Victoria the White Cat in Cats. A favorite musical theater experience was performing Christine in A Chorus Line with CenterStage in Louisville. Christy has taught across the country for organizations such as Texas Ballet Theater, Cecchetti Council of America, Mississippi Metropolitan Ballet, and Northeast Atlanta Ballet. Additionally, she received her Progressing Ballet Technique Certification in 2019
Kayleigh Western
2026/2027 Faculty
Kayleigh Western is from Lexington, Kentucky, and began her dance training at the Lexington Ballet School. Her studies continued there and at the School for the Creative and Performing Arts before becoming a student of Cary Ballet Conservatory's Professional Training Program.Kayleigh went on to dance three seasons with Louisville Ballet's Studio Company and thereafter joined Lexington Ballet Company. There, she danced principal roles in The Nutcracker, The Firebird, Romeo and Juliet, and several original works by Eric Trope. She joined Louisville Ballet as a Company Artist in 2025 and will be entering her second season in the company this year.Throughout her career, she has attended programs at Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre and performed works by George Balanchine, Ronald Hynd, Val Caniparoli, Andrea Schermoly, and Juliano Nunes. Kayleigh has been featured in Pointe Magazine, Dance Teacher Magazine, Ballet Rosa's Créateur Catalog, as well as the album cover art for Whirr's Raw Blue.Kayleigh is thrilled to join the coaching staff for Central Kentucky Ballet Conservatory!.
Kai Blankenship
2026/2027 Faculty
Kai is from Ashland, Kentucky where she started her dance training under Leah Copley Summers and Tammy Jo Edge. She attended multiple summer dance intensives around the country falling in love with dance even more. At 14 years old, she moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to attend the North Carolina School for the Arts. There she trained with Gyula Pandi, Melissa Hayden, Warren Connor, and Keee-Juan. While at NCSA, Kai dance in Melissa Hayden's Fescos and Swan La Pas de Trois. From 2004-2005 Kai attended Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, training under Sharon Dante, Scott Thyberg, Eleanor D'Antuono, Kevin Martin and Alexei Tchernichova. There she was featured in the Nutcracker and Dansereeye 3. In 2006, Kai moved to Budapest, Hungary to attend the Hungarian Dance Academy. After multiple foot injuries, she stopped dancing and went on to graduate from Missouri State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and a minor in dance. Following school, Kai moved to LA where she worked in the fitness industry and found her new love of cycling, barre, and strength training. Kai instructed and managed Cycle YOU and taught ballet at Barbara Ann's School of Dance in Lexington, KY for multiple years before returning home to get her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Shawnee State University. Kai is currently a Physical Therapist Assistant with KORT Physical Therapy.
Alexis Wright
2026/2027 Guest Contemporary Choreographer
Alexis is from Lexington, KY and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2024 with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Other than taking ballet classes from a young age, she has been consistently dancing since age 12. Her training grew at Traci Stone’s Dance as a member of the competition team, studying ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and musical theatre. From there, she became a member of the University of Kentucky Dance Ensemble to continue her training, specifically in contemporary, jazz, and hip hop. She has been a solo choreographer at Traci Stone’s Dance since 2023, achieving several high adjudications, top placements, judges awards, and choreography awards. She cannot wait to work with CKBC this summer!!

Miranda Maas
2026/2027 Home School Ballet and Private Coach
​Miranda Maas an American ballet dancer started ballet at the age of 13 at a local competition studio. Ms Maas attended her first summer intensive at Ballet Magnificat in 2017. Ms. Maas began studying ballet full time at Gloria Deo School of the Arts under the direction of Sarah Henderson. Ms. Maas was accepted into Cary Ballet Conservatory in Cary, NC where she did one year post high school training under the direction of Mariaelena Ruiz. Miranda was a member of the conservatory’s pre-professional company, Cary Ballet Company From 2020-2021. Ms Maas participated at YAGP in 2017, 2019, and 2020. Ms Maas joined United Ballet Theatre, under the direction of Joseph Gatti, as a trainee for their 2021-22 season. Ms. Maas also danced with Kentucky Ballet Theatre under the direction of Norbe Risco as a student trainee for their 2022-23 season. Ms. Maas attended Ballet Magnificat's summer dance intensive as a pre-professional student and had the opportunity to perform company repertoire Deliver Us in 2024. Ms. Maas joined Ballet Magnificat's trainee program from 2024-2026 where she performed repertoire such as mini ballet sinful women, and Hosea and Gomer. She also had the opportunity to perform with the company in their ballet Light Has Come.

Amy Jones Gibbons​
2026/2027 Guest Contemporary Choreographer
Amy Jones Gibbons is from Huntington, WV and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Point Park University with a BA in Dance. Amy performed professionally with the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC) from 2008-2016, and as a guest artist during their 2017-2018 and 2023-2024 seasons. She also served as Co-Director of the Pre-Professional company, DCDC2, alongside her colleague Rebecca Sparks during the 2014-2015 season. In 2019, Amy co-founded and was named the Artistic Director of the Onyx Contemporary Dance Company. Amy served as a full-time professor and the DCDC Artist Residence for the Theatre, Dance, and Performance Technology Program at The University of Dayton, where she was appointed Artistic Director and Co-Director of the UD Dance Ensemble from 2016-2023. She was also the resident choreographer for both musicals and operas performed at the University during that timeframe. Amy currently teaches at DCDC, The Miami Valley Dance Center and Dance Expressions. Amy has created choreography for the Ohio Northern University's Dance Department, WSU's 2015 Faculty Concert, DCDC, DCDC2, Midwest Starz National Talent Competition, Sinclair Community College, Kaleidoscope Entertainment, and for several dance studios throughout the Midwest. Amy's students have performed professionally with both the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company's first and second company and have received scholarships to study dance in higher education at universities such as Wright State, Oklahoma City, Ohio State, North Carolina School of the Arts, The University of Dayton, and Point Park University.
